Treating Depression with Supplements
Please always seek the advice of a health professional, do not attempt to self diagnose or treat oneself without first consulting a Doctor/Psychiatrist/Therapist. Any addition of vitamins, medicine, remedies should always be discussed with a Doctor because they can interact with each other, diminish the effect of another medication, or have a toxic reaction in the body.
I reached out to an alternative primary care physician to receive body feedback from a NutrEval test. I shared with the alternative doc my psych meds and I shared with my psychiatrist my alternative meds, as well as my main primary care doctor.
The supplements were advised in two phases. First motive: to help clear my gut and give it a chance to perform better/absorb the supplements it will need. For example, Scrubber, an “Alkaline formulation neutralizes acid toxins that rob the body of oxygen. Studies have shown that spice extracts kill yeast, bacteria, fungi, virus and mold.”
The second phase is based on the NutrEval test results:
Supplements recommended for my body were:
- Cerefolin NAC
- Vitamin A
- Vitamin D
- Total Amino Solution
- Unique E (Tocopherols)
- Energizing Iron
- Lipoic Acid Supreme
Each body’s needs are unique, I share this information to encourage you to find ways to better understand your own body and be willing to hear 2nd opinions. At the end, it is up to you to do the homework. Read the bottles. Know the potential side effects of any pill you take and how they may interact with each other.
